Library resource guides: Open access publishing via ANZCA: Springer Journals

Springer Journals

This new deal came into effect on 1 January 2025, and allows ANZCA and CICM researchers to publish open access in Springer and Palgrave hybrid journals, with no transactional Article Processing Charges (APCs). This includes such journals as: Journal of Anesthesia, Canadian Journal of Anesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Current Pain and Headache Reports, plus many many more. This deal operates on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to 30 articles for participating Victorian Health Libraries (including ANZCA and CICM).

How does it work?

Once you have had your article approved for publication (post-editorial acceptance), the corresponding author will be prompted as to availability of any no-cost open-access publishing options during their payment request.
Use the Change button if Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists was not previously chosen as your affiliation - this will display any available no-cost open-access publishing options.
