DynaMed: Resource information

Similar to UpToDate, DynaMed aims to help clinicians make informed decisions by providing access to up-to-date, evidence-based information, expert guidance, and a personalized experience.

User accounts can be used to personalise access, download CME/CPD hours and access the DynaMed app.



  1. Log into the web version of DynaMed using your college ID and password
  2. Click on the [ Create Account ] button in the "Unlock personalised alerts and continuing education credits with a free personal account" box

  1. On the Register for a personal account screen, enter the following information:
    • Email Address
    • Password
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Specialty = Anesthesiology OR Pain Medicine
    • Role = choose the role that best describes you - for example: Anesthesiologist

  1. Review the Additional information about personal data collection and usage:

  1. To create a personal account: select Yes and click the [ Continue ] button to finish the creation of your account
  2. If you do not consent, then select No - no user account will be created

Note: The account will be active for 12 months.


Download the DynaMed app:

You can download the app using the following links:

Apple Store iOS (iTunes App Store) - Access: Free

Google Play Android (Google Play) - Access: Free


Signing in:

Note: Before accessing the DynaMed app, ANZCA users must first create a personal user account using the web-based version of DynaMed (see previous section), which will then allow you to access the app.

  1. Open the DynaMed app
  2. Select the Sign In tab and click the [ Sign In ] button

  1. In the Sign in with a DynaMed account section, enter your Email Address and your personalised DynaMed account Password, and click the Sign In button

  1. Choose your installation option - you can use the app in "online only" mode or download the entire DynaMed library on your device.

  1. Click the Continue button to access the app!

It is possible to set up alerts and follow particular specialties.

Follow your specialty

  1. If you haven't already, sign into your personalised account (see section above for details on how to set up a personalised account in DynaMed)
  2. From the home screen, select the Follow your specialty link OR select the Specialties option in the main menu. Note: In the Specialties option is located at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On the Follow screen, select your alert type - you will have 3 options:
    • All Email Alerts
    • Only Potentially Practice-Changing Email Alerts
    • No Email, please. Just show me alerts on the home page.

  1. Click the [ Follow ] button when complete

Access alerts

  1. From the home screen, select the Alerts option in the main menu
  2. Filter by category by clicking the [Category ] button and then selecting your topic (for example: Anesthesiology and Pain Management)and then clicking the [ Apply ] button

It is possible for (signed in) users to claim CME/CE/CPD/MOC credits after reading content.



Claiming your CPD hours

  1. If you haven't already, sign into your personalised account (see section above for details on how to set up a personalised account in DynaMed)
  2. In the My Continuing Education box, select the [ Claim Credits ] button

  1. Use the Settings cog in the top-right of screen to access the CME/CPD/CE and MOC Settings screen

  1. On the Your Information tab, enter your details and click the [ Save ] button when complete - Note: we advise putting your business address in the Home Address section

  1. On the CME/CPD/CE tab, select the Time-based tracking option, and click the [ Save and Close ] button

  1. On the CME/CPD/CE and MOC main page: select the Available selections for which you'd like to claim credit, and then click the [ Claim Hours ] button at the bottom of the screen

  1. The Evaluation screen will display - the feedback on this screen is completely optional
  2. Click the [ Submit ] button to generate the "Time-Based Tracking" certificate
  3. The PDF certificate can be downloaded by clicking corresponding [ Download PDF ] button on the Claimed tab

CPD information

  • CPD participants can now download an accreditation certificate that includes the time proportion of their reading
  • See the Claim your CPD credits/time section on this page for further information
