Clinicians need to communicate information about risk to patients on a daily basis. Often this requires analyzing and conveying complex numerical information. But few clinicians have any training in how to do this effectively. These online education modules help patients make informed decisions.

The End-of-Life Essentials Project offers free peer-reviewed online education modules on health care at the end of life in acute hospitals for nurses, doctors and allied health professionals.

Comprised of seven e-learning modules - including an introductory module - designed to up-skill and support you to have effective feedback conversations in all aspects of your daily practice, the Fundamentals of Feedback course is designed to introduce you to a conversational framework that may be applied to feedback conversations, both clinical and simulated settings.

The Fundamentals of Mentoring course is specifically designed to support existing hospital mentoring schemes by providing a training framework for mentors and mentees in anaesthesia and pain medicine.

These modules considers various aspects of communication in clinical settings, including some introductory material on situation awareness.

The Communication in Anaesthesia Special Interest Group (SIG) plans to develop workshops and resources and provide guidance to help improve anaesthetists’ skills in all aspects of their work including patient care, working with surgeons and other health professionals, administrators and the media.
