Key areas to consider in planning your CPD include:

  • Understanding emerging technologies and exploring the implications for your practice.

Practice evaluation (category 1)

  • Undertake a critical reflection on an emerging technology relevant to your work and develop a plan for practice change. Potential topics for reflection include the role of social media and artificial intelligence.
  • Participate in a peer support group of self-selected peers with expertise and interest in new technologies and practice. Areas of focus for the group include using technologies appropriately and effectively in your professional practice. Examples include: value and outcomes of social media presence, using specific posts to identify areas of effective professional engagement and learning, and areas with less successful engagement/learning.

Knowledge & skills (category 2)

  • Undertake a formal qualification on new technologies and claim time spent doing this under formal courses.
  • Attend face-to-face or virtual learning sessions relevant to new technologies and your practice (for example: conferences, podcasts, webinars; see key areas to considerUnderstanding emerging technologies and exploring the implications for your practice). Claim time spent doing this under learning sessions.
