Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crises (EMAC)

Anaesthesia SIMGs are normally required to do an EMAC course. The decision as to whether this is required is made as part of the initial assessment process.

ANZCA: EMAC Course
Effective Management of Anaesthetic Crises (EMAC) is a simulation-based course focused on managing anaesthetic emergencies. It consists of five modules, run over two and a half days, and is a compulsory requirement of the anaesthesia training program.

ASA SIMG Exam Support Sessions
The ASA runs a number of online SIMG Exam Support Sessions throughout each year. These sessions provide exam training for candidates around Australia. They also provide an opportunity to engage with consultants, examiners and other candidates as part of their exam preparation.

Cultural safety: First Australians (1) [Learn@ANZCA]
This is the first course in the suite of four courses developed to support RACS SIMGs, trainees and fellows on their journey to providing culturally safe environments for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

Each course is designed to be completed sequentially over a longer period of time. The content is broken into separate modules which will take around 30 minutes to complete.

Cultural safety: First Australians (2) [Learn@ANZCA]
This is the second course in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Cultural Safety eLearning framework. This course has been developed to support RACS IMGs, Trainees and Fellows on their journey to contributing to a more culturally safe healthcare environment.

This course builds on the learning of the Cultural safety: First Australians (1) course.

Cultural safety: First Australians (3) [Learn@ANZCA]
This is the third course in the suite of four courses developed to support Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMGs), trainees and fellows on their journey to providing culturally safe environments for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

This course builds on the learning of the Cultural safety: First Australians (1) and (2) courses.
