Activity: Patient experience survey Practice evaluation - Reviewing performance
Mandatory activity (clinical practice): One of four potential practice evaluationMulti-source feedback; Peer review of practice; Patient experience survey; Clinical audit activities

Patient experience survey

  • Obtain feedback on the care you provide from at least 15 patients/parents (a cross section of your usual practice) and reflect on collated feedback to improve your practice.

***

  • You can use a specialty-specific college guideline (linked in the ANZCA & FPM resources section) to complete this activity.
  • If you use a different tool, it must measure patient experiences relevant to your scope of practice.

  • Perform a patient experience survey using the ANZCA form (see ANZCA & FPM resources section)
  • Complete a post-operative feedback session
  • Undertake a series of surveys across multiple locations/units
  • Undertake a patient survey using a locally created tool - for example: a Google Docs form adapted from ANZCA form (see ANZCA & FPM resources section)

  • You may choose to undertake a critical reflection activity on the patient experience survey results and develop a plan for practice change.
  • This facilitates the participant ‘closing the loop’ by reflecting on specific actions that can improve patient care.
