Peer support groups

A group of three or more self-selected peers that meets regularly to discuss and reflect upon professional matters related to their practice in a supportive setting.

Peer support groups may address direct patient care issues or clinical support roles (for example: complaints, own health and wellbeing, career transitions, ethics, leadership, professionalism).
Note: The meeting must be a formal structured educational activity.

Individual participants may choose to undertake a critical reflection activity on the peer support groups and reflect on the matters discussed at the peer support group.

CPD Value: CPD participants may claim this under the Practice evaluation - reviewing performance peer support groups activity.

The objective of the PSG is to provide structured peer support to RACMA colleagues of all jurisdictions who are professionally isolated. Meetings will be conducted monthly for approximately an hour.
